Elaine Garmon has an extensive background in Education, Counseling, and Coaching. She has a Masters Degree in Counseling and she is a Board Certified Coach. She taught for several years at the Elementary and Middle School level in both regular and special education. She has counseled students of all ages at the college and graduate school level. She has worked with teens and families struggling with ADHD or Autism Spectrum Disorder as well as supported foster families in their work with at risk children and teens.
At the heart of all of her work with individuals, couples, and families, Elaine has found that she has a passion for supporting her clients in the discovery of their personal strengths. She enjoys helping others to further develop their unique gifts in order to reach their potential. Elaine has a knack for seeing the best in people and helping them to determine their core values and inner purpose. She has a kind and affirming style of coaching and she brings with her a lightness and great sense of humor.
Elaine and her husband are the proud parents of three children who bring an abundance of joy into their lives. Elaine is a nature lover and she relishes spending time in the outdoors with her family. Often, you will find them hiking, surfing, rock climbing, or mountain biking throughout Southern California. Elaine believes that all of us could use more physical movement and connection with nature in our day to day lives. Through her work in outdoor education as a high and low ropes course instructor, she knows first hand the transformative power to be found in spending more time in nature. Whether it be simply taking a walk through the park, or quietly gazing at the ocean, even as little as 10 minutes spent purposefully outside can make a huge difference in our daily lives.
These three passions; helping others to realize their best self, exercise and its effect on our total wellness, and her own deep love of nature are what inspired Elaine to design the Walking Your Talk model of coaching for total wellness.
